Debat: Activisme in de Kunst
Naar aanleiding van het initiatief Bureau Kunstenaarsparticipatie neemt BAVO deel aan het debat: Protest! Activisme in de kunst, georganiseerd door Arminius, Rotterdam.

Aankondiging
Sinds Pim Fortuyn wordt Rotterdam vaak gezien als een stad waar nieuwe maatschappelijke ontwikkelingen als eerste zichtbaar worden. Het is daarbij opvallend dat veel kunstenaars zich laten inspireren door activisme. Hopen kunstenaars iets te bereiken met hun kunst?
Werken ze vanuit eenzelfde achtergrond en zijn er overeenkomsten met bijvoorbeeld oude stromingen als Dadaïsme of Provo? Debat met medewerking van:
- Jonas Staal, beeldend kunstenaar en agitator
- Gideon Boie, Bureau Kunstenaarsparticipatie
- Joep Bertrams, politiek spotprententekenaar dagblad Het Parool en NOVA
- Kamiel Verschuren, beeldend kunstenaar
- Daniëlle Arets, moderator
Dit debat is een samenwerkingsverband tussen TENT, Willem de Kooning Academie en Arminius ter gelegenheid van de tentoonstelling ‘The People United Will Never Be Defeated’ te bezichtigen van 18 februari t/m 29 april in TENT. Witte de Withstraat 50 Rotterdam.
