Tijdens de opening speelt pianist Bobby Mitchell het muziekstuk The People United Will Never Be Defeated! (1976) van componist Frederic Rzewski.
NB. Eerder op de avond opent Witte de With de tentoonstellingen 'ACT IV: I Could Live in Africa', 'ACT V: Power Alone' en Isa Genzken's interventie op het gebouw.

Friday, 19 February, opening of The People United Will Never Be Defeated, a topical group exhibition surrounding the municipal elections of 3 March, in which the relationship between art and politics is critically examined. Video installations, sculptures, campaign songs, art from the collections of political parties: the artists in the exhibition hound the politicians and address the political system in an explicit way. The motivation for the exhibition is the essay Post-Propaganda by Jonas Staal, with which he incites further discussion on art and politics. During the opening the pianist Bobby Mitchell plays the composition The People United Will Never Be Defeated! (1976) by composer Frederic Rzewski.
Note: Earlier in the evening Witte de With opens the exhibitions 'ACT IV: I Could Live in Africa', 'ACT V: Power Alone' and Isa Genzken's intervention in the building.
